Objective: Amber Pacific Studios was commissioned to produce a comprehensive visual content campaign for Richmond’s premier maritime festival, documenting the arrival of the legendary Kaiwo Maru tall ship from Japan and celebrating the deep cultural connection between Steveston and Japanese maritime heritage.
Our team delivered cinematic video production, aerial drone coverage, photography, and short-form social media content designed to capture the scale, atmosphere, and cultural significance of the event.

THE IMPACT
The goal of the production was to create a visually immersive experience that reflected both the grandeur of the Kaiwo Maru and the energy of the festival itself. By combining cinematic storytelling, sweeping aerials, crowd moments, live performances, the final content package positioned the event as a world-class cultural celebration on Richmond’s waterfront.
The final content package provided the City of Richmond with a versatile library of high-end visual assets for tourism marketing, social media promotion, future festival campaigns, and long-term brand storytelling surrounding the Ships to Shore Festival.
